The Chinese Association for the Gifted and Talented (hereafter referred to as "CAGT") was established in 1995 authorized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the Peoples Republic of China (MCA). It is a non-for-profit organization lead by China Talent Research, and volunteered by researchers and practitioners who are dedicated to education for talented children in China. Its object is to promote the research, practice and legislation of talents education in China.

CAGT has nearly 200 individual members and over 100 organization members. They are from research institute, university, high school, middle school, and kindergarten. CAGT as an research based organization, is also dedicated to exploring the patent law of talents growth in China, the application and legislation of talents education and the cultivation of talent development from all walks of life.
